- Wedding: March 2015
I’m getting married at the end of March. At first I was planning to do DIY crochet/fabric bouquets (I made some for my friend a couple of years ago) but our wedding involves a fair bit of going from one place to the next and I think it will end up with parents (i.e. my sisters) rather than my nieces (three of the five bridesmaids) holding the bouquets for most of the day. Our day is very informal. There’s no long aisle and hubby-to-be will see me before we travel to the ceremony (by a short ferry & train ride!) so I feel like bouquets don’t really fit.
I was wondering about having clutches/purses instead of bouquets. I thought I could customise them with a few crochet/fabric flowers and then they’d not only have something that they would keep hold of on the day but something they could keep and use in future. My bridesmaids are 8, 13, 18, 31 & 32.
What do people think? Is anyone else doing this? Do you have any photos/examples to share?
