Hey Girls, I’m had a general question regarding the flower choosing for the bouquets. How do I go about deciding the types of flowers I wanted to use with my bouquet? What have you girls choosen?
Do the colors have to match the theme of the wedding? Or should I just go with something that looks pretty and matches the Groom’s Tie?

I never picked specific flowers. I specified colors (mostly dark purple with a. Bit of white for mine, the opposite for the BMs). I sent them some inspiration pictures. I told them the few flowers I DID NOT want. Then let them go with what was in season and in budget.

I went with colored flowers for my bouquet. I wanted the color to pop against the white dress. I felt that white/ivory or cream flowers would blend too much with the dress.
I would check to see what flowers are in bloom during your wedding season. Flowers in season will be more readily available and will be cheaper.

I picked one of my flowers, I wanted a few purple iris in the mix, but besides that I said shades of purple and I wanted it round without a tail of flowers, the flower lady did the rest and it was wonderful.

I knew I wanted yellow roses so my bouquet will be yellow roses with a yellow ribbon. We bought my Fiance a tie to match.
Look on Pinterest for inspiration photos and see what takes your fancy. Also consider costs and what’s in season for the time of year.

@marissal7901: I just googled bouquet hehe, and then looked and looked until I made my choice.
Don’t look too much though, or you’ll never decide hehe.
I loved H. Duff’s bouquet!

@marissal7901: I googled and did some browsing on pinterest. I looked more at color than at specific flowers, although my florist knows I love hydrangea and garden roses. For my bouquet I want very soft pastels and I found a picture that was exactly the colors I was looking for. The florist went through and figured out how to get the same look. For me, that’s soft blue hydrangea, white calla lillies, light pink garden roses, and purple lisanthius.
My bouquet won’t match my bridesmaids’ bouquets, which will likely be a soft yellow, but hydrangea and roses will be a running theme through all of our floral decor.
