I really wanted a couple gold gilded peonies in mine and my Bridesmaid or Best Man bouquets and to cut costs the florist is going to gild fake flowers to put in with the real peonies!

Get a couple of the expensive real touch ones, and nobody will be able to notice. It’ll look great.

I think that is a really good idea, actually!

I’m getting married in December and I wanted hydrangeas. That obviously was not going to happen so I went to Hobby Lobby one day when they had a 50% sale on their fake flowers. I did what someone already suggested. I bought expensive, real feel and look ones. You can’t really tell the difference. To ease my mind about it, I’m mixing a few real white flowers in my bouquet that I can get in season to be sure it looks real.

chigirl217bride :  OMG that’s going to look amazing!!! Such a cool idea.

whitebridetobee :  You can definitely get away with using high-quality fakes in your bouquet. It’s quite a smart move, actually!

All I wanted was a bouquet of magnolias- until I had different people explain that it’s technical not a “cut flower” and therefore it really doesn’t last as long. So my only solution was to include a few fakes with hydrangeas (same as my bridesmaids bouquets). It saved me a lot of money and gave me the look/style that I wanted. Couldn’t have been happier.
