Just got back from a meeting with my florist (YAY!) and I’m suprised by how much she’s quoting me for my bouquet.. I know they crank up prices for a wedding, but seriously?!
I want something like this (but without the succulents)
With one peony (they’re out of season so expensive but still my favourites) ranunculus, dahlias, irises and then some sprigs of lavender, mint & chamomile for scent. She’s charging me £78?! ($124)
Is this about right? She’s only charging me £35 for table centrepieces including vintage china hire.. argh!
Am I just out of the loop in terms of pricing?

My package is $1000 and includes
1 x brides bouquet
3 x bridesmaid bouquet
6 x buttonholes
2 x corsages
2 x large alter arrangements
10 x table centerpieces in 35cm round glass vases
2m ‘long and low’ for bridal table
1 x throw bouquet
I can choose any combo of flowers I want (thinking hydrangeas, peonies, David Austin roses etc).

- Wedding: June 2013 - Upstate NY
Here in NY, most bridal bouquets with what you’ve listed are $150-$200. Such a freakin rip off!! I am doing roses, hydrangea and a spider mum and I got her down to $90 (all “non-special order” flowers, in season for June)

That actually sounds like a pretty good price for that bouquet in my area. The florist that we’re going with charges $12 per garden rose (ridiculous), so I can only imagine how expensive that one peony is to begin with.

My venue actually included a $400 flower credit and had an in-house florist. They do it for a discounted rate. The technical cost of my bouquet was $85 and I absolutelllllyy lovvvvved it.

I made my bouquet, my three bridesmaids bouquets, 10 buttonholes (including two for mother-in-laws) and a mini bouttonhole for each guest (100 – well 80 guests but I thought I’d give them some choice) for under £50.00.
I made them out of buttons, beads and paper flowers. I’m really chuffed with them AND their price.
@kaetia If you are confident – could you make them yourself out of paper/silk/fabiric flowers OR with the ‘real touch’ flowers. My friend and her mum and bridesmaids made their bouquets up on the night before their wedding and they looked fab? x

Mine was 75 dollars!
I didnt ask for anything specific, except the colors and I asked for seasonal flowers plus lace and pearls around the bouquet.. and my wedding was also in NY

I paid $80 for mine, but I had to really bargain with my florist and give him some “artistic leeway” (basically let him use something he had lying around if necessary) to achive a look I wanted. I said I needed to have white fuji spider mums and purple alstromeria and I wanted it to look something like this but in purple:
and I got this, which I think was pretty flippin AWESOME!
However, given that I literally had some of the cheapest flowers out there as my requests AND I was flexible if you’ve got a pretty specific look for flowers, I’d say your price sounds about right.

Mine was pretty expensive ($125) but we chose mini calla lilies and orchids which are some of the most expensive flowers. It was a beautiful bouquet, though.

Mine is $125, and will include peonies, garden roses, and a few other fillers. I was really insistent about having peonies (at least a few in mine) so they’re going to special order if necessary.

Mine is $70 and only has red tulips. I didn’t want any fillers. Tulips are in season right now and because they aren’t a big bloom flower (like a lily), they weren’t expensive.

My daughter-in-law-to-be is making mine out of local tropical flowers, many grown in our own yards, so it will probably cost about $10.
