Am I the only one that feels this tradition is horrific?

zl27:  Nope. I didn’t toss anything, and I married almost 40 years ago. The last time I saw a garter toss – 10 plus years ago – the band played “The Stripper.”  It was a very fancy, city hotel, ballroom wedding, and I was shocked.

P.S. Not my wedding, not my decision, though. In my family/social circle, pretty much no one considers either toss; in others, they couldn’t dream of not doing them.

mjharri4:  Comment of the day right there! Made me laugh so much. Funnily enough Move B**ch wasn’t on our dj’s suggestion lists for bouquet toss songs lol.

Still excited about Single Ladies which we’re doing, but I had never paid attention and had no idea that everyone does that lol. Oh well still a good match and not a massive change from the rest of the dance tracks.

keevolpi:  instead of doing all of this stuff, I kept my beautiful bouquet.

My floral contract had a tossing bouquet – which was just a smaller and pretty little nosega. I gave it to the longest married bride. We did an anniversary dance and when there was one couple standing, I gave her the flowers. And then we played “their song.”  It was a big hit with the older crowd.

And my few single lady friends all thanked me for skipping the bouquet toss. We are in our 30s and it just feels so awkward.

keevolpi:  For ours we did:

Garter removal/toss: Ginuwine – “Pony”

Putting the garter on the girl that caught the garter:  The Runaways – “Cherry Bomb”

To be honest, I can’t recall what he played during the boquet toss anymore!
