At my best friends wedding a but over a year ago, they did the garter toss first. Her husband aimed it purposely towards my now fiance. Then when she did the bouquet toss, her hubby was giving her directions on whereto stand so that she could throw it straight to me. We did get engaged, but it took almost a year, and one of her other friends had gotten engaged in that time period before me. The last wedding I went to, I didn’t catch the bouquet, the flowerngirl did. But I got engaged a couple months later.

I caught three bouquets.  Nothing.  I went years without dates.
Then at my friend’s wedding, she was aiming the bouquet RIGHT AT ME.  However, I was distracted by another friend being a goofball (wasn’t intentional on her behalf)…I missed the toss, it hit me in the head, and a twelve-year-old caught it.
A month later, DH asked me out.
A year later, DH’s cousin got married.  At this point, it’s very clear to his family that it’s serious.  DH’s aunt is trying to get the cousin to toss it to me…I hang out at the back, telling everyone, “Three bouquets have done me no good.” The bride’s sister caught it, and DH and I were engaged within 3 weeks.  I guess I have reverse luck!

I techinically cought the bouquet at my brother’s wedding in 2006 when I wasn’t even dating anyone but I don’t really count that because it was me and one other girl and the bouquet just fell on the ground and I was the one to pick it up.

BUT one of my best friends got married in October and I caught the bouquet and was the next to get engaged

Never caught it, never married! But then, I was always better at dodge-ball than base-ball 😉

Funnily enough, at my neice’s wedding her maid of honour caught the bouquet, the best man caught the garter, and they married one another eight months later. But they were already secretly engaged and were just waiting for the wedding to be over and out of the way before announcing, so I don’t know if that counts.

I have always avoided the boquet toss, and now I’m married.

I caught it at my FSIL’s wedding in March of 2011. My other Future Sister-In-Law got married first (but she was already engaged anyway), but within that group I was the next to get engaged (almost a year later haha!)

At my sister’s wedding I “caught” the bouquet (I put it in quotes because she talked with all the other girls beforehand. She aimed for me and they all jumped out of the way/ducked. Then they looked at me so I just picked it up off the floor when it landed at my feet) and I am pretty sure I am the first to get married, except for one girl whose wedding was like 2 months after my sister’s and had been engaged for a year, but I don’t think that counts. So I guess it was true for us… even if my fiance was angry that I picked up the bouquet. He said I should’ve just walked away! Even when it almost landed on my foot! He was just kidding of course

    Honest to god true story.

I was Maid/Matron of Honor in a high school friends wedding.  The bride told me and everyone else she was going to throw the bouquet at me so be ready since I had been with DH, then BF for so long.  Time comes to catch it and her jealous Bridesmaid or Best Man put her hands in my hands and caught my bouquet.  I was mad, but shruged it off.  After all I was in a relationship and she was single.

One year and nine months later I finally got engaged…….the same day that jealous Bridesmaid or Best Man married her husband.

So their might be some truth to that.

I caught a bouqet once, as a young teen.  I haven’t caught one since. I know of at least 2 people who got married before me from that wedding, and there were probably more!

Only been to 2 weddings, and only one had the bouquet toss. That was May 2011 and the bouquet was purposely thrown to a 2 year old, to my disappointment. At that rate, I’ll never get engaged, I thought! Haha. Well,I got engaged in July 2011.
