im trying to figure out if its suppose to be one or other or if they can do both together? we ordered both but now that i think about it it seems like that will look too cluttered. or is one suppose to go on one side and the other on the other side? i tried googling and i couldnt get a straight answer. all i could find was a pocket scarf is traditionally for a less formal wedding like if your wearing a nice suit or less formal tux where a bout is traditionally used for more formal weddings and more formal tuxs. im assuming that would be like the ones with the tails? idk.but it never said if they could be done together so if anyone knows or has a pic of them together please post! thanks

@jbbs1222: If both are pretty simple, you CAN do both – assuming you are not doing black tie. For black tie, you should do one or the other. Both go on the left side.
Tailcoats are NOT a part of a Tuxedo – they are a different animal, more formal, and generally do not allow for such range of freedom as either a pocket square or a boutonierre.
What do the suits look like, and what bouts/pocket squares are you planning on? Have pics?

This is the tux we ordered. the vest is dark blue tho and the pocket scarf will be blue. the tie is black tho still. The bout is just a white rose bud

@jbbs1222: Honestly I’d either nix the pocket square or nix the bout. The GM’s in our party had bouts no squares. We had a lavender for the bouts.
