Does anyone happen to know the standard rules for bout colors?
Are the groom and ringbearer supposed to have the same color.. and then the groomsmen something different?
I’m pretty sure I’m going to be making these for my groomsmen (idea stolen from etsy).. but I’m not quite sure how to change it up.
I was going to make them with navy yarn instead.. Our colors are navy/pink.. and then the guys will be wearing grey tuxes with navy ties.
Fh will be wearing a navy & baby pink tie (hopefully). 🙂 But I really needed to incorporate pink and navy, so I didn’t really want to go with the grey.. Help!

I don’t think there are any rules. My guys all had the same color bouts, but the grooms was bigger then the rest.

We are having our groom and ring bearer in one colour and the rest in another…seems to be pretty common practice over here!

I agree with artbee. I think its perfectly fine to have the same color/patterns for the groomsmen, I would just make sure that the groom’s was a little larger than the rest.

@doobedoo: we did the same. Groom and Ring Bearer had purple and the groomsmen had ivory

I don’t think there’s an official correct answer. I’ve seen every combination in weddings.
I think part of what makes a difference is how many other differences there are in the groom vs the guys – same tie/outfit etc.
For our wedding, my groom will have same suit but different tie and he’ll have cufflinks. He actually requested to have a different color flower though I wanted to keep them all in the same just because of our colors.
