MichiganGirl24:   I have seen one photo of a groom with a boutonniere pinned to his shirt, and I thought it looked odd.  Just my opinion.  LOL

MichiganGirl24:  No, a boutonniere should go through the buttonhole on a jacket.

MichiganGirl24:  I know some people think they look odd, but Darling Husband really wanted one and I wanted him to have one. Here’s a pic of his bout with no jacket/vest- we pinned it through the buttonhole on his shirt pocket… I think it looked just fine and helped set him apart from the other 2 guys there since everyone was pretty much wearing the same thing… HOwever, it would cut a bit from your budget if you didn’t have to get them. You could always just get him one too….

Here’s some pics I found online with suspender bout’s- personally I love this look!

MichiganGirl24:  When it comes down to it, you can do whatever you want/like. No one is ever going to suffer terrible consequences because of any decision made on how to dress the wedding party, despite what the “experts” will tell you.

If I were going to  make the decision, I would pin the boutonniere to the suspenders, as otherwise it is likely to be crushed by the movement of the suspenders.
