Fiance and his groomsmen will not be wearing jackets or vests over their shirts. They will be wearing grey slacks, white shirts, ties (neck/long ties, not bowtie), and suspenders.
I can’t decide if they should wear bouts. They would have to pin them to their shirts or the suspenders.
Fiance says he doesn’t care either way. It would be nice to cut them from our budget, but I also think they’re really cute. Not sure how they would look without jackets or vests though.
Thoughts? If you vote for bouts, should they be pinned to the shirt or the suspender?

MichiganGirl24: I have seen one photo of a groom with a boutonniere pinned to his shirt, and I thought it looked odd. Just my opinion. LOL

Astra: haha I agree with you! I was thinking pinning it to the suspender would be better, but still might look odd.

MichiganGirl24: No, a boutonniere should go through the buttonhole on a jacket.

MichiganGirl24: I know some people think they look odd, but Darling Husband really wanted one and I wanted him to have one. Here’s a pic of his bout with no jacket/vest- we pinned it through the buttonhole on his shirt pocket… I think it looked just fine and helped set him apart from the other 2 guys there since everyone was pretty much wearing the same thing… HOwever, it would cut a bit from your budget if you didn’t have to get them. You could always just get him one too….
Here’s some pics I found online with suspender bout’s- personally I love this look!

MichiganGirl24: When it comes down to it, you can do whatever you want/like. No one is ever going to suffer terrible consequences because of any decision made on how to dress the wedding party, despite what the “experts” will tell you.
If I were going to make the decision, I would pin the boutonniere to the suspenders, as otherwise it is likely to be crushed by the movement of the suspenders.

julies1949: Oh, I know. Just wanted to get some opinions. I can’t decide if I think it looks weird to wear a bout sans vest/jacket, or not.
I definitely think prefer it pinned to the suspender strap versus pinned to the shirt.
I do like what BeckyS0 suggested about having only the groom wear a bout so he stands out a little among the gromsmen.
