So I’m designing my wedding shoes through Shoes of Prey… I have trouble with my knees, ankles & feet so high heels aren’t an option and I”m so excited to have the opportunity to design some pretty kitten heels! But I made the mistake of telling my mum too much about what I was doing and as always she’s made comments that have made me question my decisions. She ALWAYS does this. Nothing is ever right by her standards, ugh!!!! TO the point that she was saying “you know bridal shoes aren’t just any shoes”… ah yes, I do know that 😛 She thinks the bows will catch on my dress & also thinks the heel on the 1.5” is too far forward which would make me unstable 😛
It’s amazing, I reckon she probably crushes ideas I’m really excited about 90% of the time… I try to laugh it off but it’s hard 🙁
Anyway, this is what I’ve designed so far (it’s a bit hard to see but it’s a double bow with the ivory tie:
I’m rethinking the mary jane strap because whilst it would stop me falling out of them (always a problem) the info pack from my dressmaker warned that buckles could cause pulls on the dress, and I’m wearing lace so I don’t want to risk it!
I really like the back bow but mum reckons it would get caught on my dress. I think a front bow is more likely to get caught! lol. Anyone with experience of bows?
Also, I can’t decide whether to put trim on it, like this:
Here are some real shoes they sent me photos of…
(a) Do you think these are bridal enough?
(b) Our photos will be taken on grass, and on a pier, with the ceremony on our venue’s rooftop. Do you think I should be looking at wedges instead?
(c) For those who’ve worn shoes with bows… do you think they’d catch on my dress?
Thanks so much!
