Yea who wants a coffee brown pinto bean shaped diamond, anyway? Not me. Hahah. Cool parents name their son Kalel; cool kid- going to use it for college or a down payment on a house. Likes rocks and science? I’m glad he found it.

I love that he named it “Superman’a Diamond.” That’s adorable!

I wonder what it would look like cut because raw, it doesn’t look like much more than a brown rock. I would have walked right past it.

I have always wanted to go to this state park, it would be so cool!  I worked with a guy who found a diamond there and had a ring made for his wife out of it.  It wasn’t perfect by any means, but very sentimental because they just stopped there on a whim and ended up finding one! The only reason I would ever go to Arkanas 😀

As an estimate, the yield would be 30-45% by weight of rough. So,  let’s call it 3.3 carats. Yellow and brown are the most common colored diamonds…the Argyle mines in Australia are lousy with them. So, assuming good enough clarity and desirable color, he’d get between $10-25k on the retail market. Maybe half or less if sold to a wholesaler to a dealer. . Not bad for 30 minutes of effort!
