@mousiegirl: I know a girl names Vanessa and she named her kids Van (boy) and Esther. I find this a little odd (have you ever looked up where the name Vanessa comes from?) but whatever- it’s not so bad and those names are way better then Maddissyn and Brayleigh or something.

I love the Welsh spelling of Rhys. 🙂

I would stick with Rhys.
If you we’re considering naming your son a name which was going to rhyme with your other children’s names I would definitely recommend a different name, but it rhyming with your name isn’t an issue IMO.

I would stick with rhys… Most people who talk to about him will call you either “Rhys’ mom” or “Mrs. Lastname”
as a side note i LOVE the name rhys, with the Welsh spelling! Its on my “list” 😉

@mousiegirl: I think there is enough difference in that your name is 3 syllables, his will be 1, and you are of opposing genders (i.e it’s not like your name is Sabrina and you want to name your daughter Carina). I say go for it.

Thanks everyone 🙂 We will be using the name for sure. I would be lying if I said the rhyme factor didn’t bother me a little bit but it’s not enough to give up the name we love.
@dv3849: Really?! I’ll be interested to know if you end up using it! Most people like the name but it seems a little out there for other people. I love that it’s different without being weird.
