Can you not use the ring he tried to propose with before?

Maximum:  good for you for recognizing you weren’t ready and good for him for recognizing that it didn’t mean you didn’t love him.  I’m sure he was crestfallen, but the two of you just needed time and now you’re probably in an even better place.

If he still has the ring, use that one – I think it would be sweet and sentimental.

Maximum:  Interesting.

I was proposed to by an ex who even at the time was an ex and desperate to get back together.  I said absolutely not and kicked him out of my house.  He refused to take the ring back, so I eventually tried to pawn it.  Turned out it was fake and worthless – like him!!

So not exactly the great ending like you had lol, but I guess it is b/c my current fiance is incredible and if I had stayed in that relationship, God only knows where I’d be today!

Cory_loves_this_girl:  I don’t get it, why do you hate that word? I’m just curious.

To OP, sounds like a very mature decision, and this time around, I’m sure you guys will have a much more enjoyable experience because now you guys are ready.

MrsPiggles:  It sounds stupid. Just type Boyfriend or Best Friend or use boyfriend.

MrsPiggles:  I hate the terms kiddos and prego to refer to kids and pregnancy

Maximum:  I turned down 2 proposals but I really didn’t want to marry those 2 boyfriends at that time or ever.

My Fiance wanted to propose for a long time before we actually got engaged, but I made it abundantly clear that I would say no if he did. I knew I wanted to marry him, but I also knew I wasn’t ready and I didn’t want to risk losing a wonderful thing because we jumped into it. It’s unusual, but I am extremely glad we waited as long as we did (and I probably would have waited another year or two if not for extenuating circumstances).
