We are having a destination wedding in Austin, Texas and we are planning optional activities for the day before the wedding. Fiance and his dad are planning a golf tournament and I’m in charge of planning something for the gals. Obviously most people do spas, but I am just NOT a spa person. I can just barely make it through a manicure, much less a massage or a facial. I expect I’ll be so excited that the last thing I want to do is sit around at a spa.
Ideas people have given me include a winery tour or a shopping excusion to the nearby outlets. Does any one have any other suggestions to a spa outing? I’m looking for something that will appeal to mult-generations of people (aunts, grandma, friends).

It really just depends what you and your ladies are into…
You could do a brunch outing, go see a movie, visit the mall, go to an arcade [think dave & busters].
Just think about what your friends/family like to do, and go from there!

A winery tour would be fun, but I’d be worried about people getting too drunk :/, which you don’t want for the day of the wedding… Maybe if it’s just one winery.
Maybe brunch? Or take everyone to tea? Hmmm I’ll keep thinking…

@orangeroses29: A cooking class, a wine or beer making class, the souvineers from those would be neat.
This sounds weird, but an Improv Workshop could be a funny way to get everyone on their feet, interacting with each other and laughing!
There are some really cool places that will take you on tours that are a little outside of your basic, here’s our place tour…look and see what kind of double decker, open level tours there are around your place, you might be surpised what you find, and even though you sit and relax, you’re still on the go and learning new stuff.
Plus, anything on a boat = fun…especially with beefy armed deck hands to serve me a mimosa and throw those ridiculously large ropes around for my amusement!

What do y’all think about a sight seeing boat cruise? We could have mimosas and enjoy the sights?

@orangeroses29: perfect, any day tour would be fun to do.

@orangeroses29: we are doing the same thing! We are going to this really nice outdoor shopping area. I love the idea of a wine tour, but I would make sure A) there is no one under 21 who couldn’t enjoy it and B) everyone likes wine.
