We are still trying to create our short list of names. I know everyone won’t LOVE my name choice, but I don’t want the majority of people to hear my baby name and think “meh” or “hate it” like my baby name post of Beckett. So, how do you feel about Chance? I have one more boy name after this, and then I will be done with name polls (at least for the time being hehe).

I’m going to be totally honest and I truly don’t mean any offense by it, but to me Chance is a dog name. I also feel that way about Toby and Brody/ie though so maybe I just have some sort of weird hangup.
I know that coming up with a name that’s unique but not too unique is hard. I was talking to my pregnant cousin recently and she said that they are trying to come up with names that will work for a child and an adult. Picture your son at a job interview- the name that is cute on a child might not work so well if he wants to be a businessman or something.
Might I suggest something close to Chance but a little less out there- Chase?

Isn’t that one of the dog’s names in Homeward Bound? I feel like I’m pretty open minded about names but in this case I am not a fan.

It was one of the names of the dogs in Homeward Bound, so to me that’s a great name for an adopted rescue dog, but not a baby boy.

@LGenz: That’s exactly what I was thinking!! I loved that movie 🙂

I prefer Beckett or Camden. 🙂 Chance is just a word to me and not a name although I know it is used that way. Sorry! I love your name polls though, I hope you find a name you fall in love with despite what us bees may say! 🙂

i like chase, but not chance. i just think of it as a dog’s name.

I can only picture a dog because of Homeward Bound! I prefer Beckett or Camden, though I don’t HATE Chance.

My nephew’s name is Chance and now that he has it I’m used to it but to be honest, I still don’t like it. I wish my bro had gone with Chase instead

It’s definitely not the worst baby name I’ve heard by any means, and I wouldn’t say I hate it but it also reminds me of the dog from Homeward Bound. I voted “meh” because I can’t say that I love it.
Naming baby boys is so hard!! I’m praying ours is a girl for this very reason alone.. I can’t find a boys name I like enough to name my baby :(.

I’m in the minority here, but out of the 3 choices you’ve posted I actually like this one the most. It sounds the closest to a “normal” name…probably because it’s so close to Chase (which I actually like too)
Can’t wait to see the final poll 😉

@IzzyBear: +1 I felt the same way. With your choices I liked this one the most because it is something I have heard before.

Not a fan. Agree with PPs that it sounds like a dog’s name.

Wasnt it the dog’s name in Homeward Bound? I dont like it.
ETA: I just read the previous responses and I guess I was remembering correctly. I havent seen that movie in years.

LOL. My first thought was that it’s a dog’s name and it’s freaking me out that everyone else has already said the same thing. I also agree that Chase is a great substitute!
