I was wondering, me and Fiance always wanted our kiddos to be girls. i had watched one episode to many episodes of Gilmore Girls and he grew up with three brothers, so our preferences was based on my desire to have an intense girl bond and him thinking boys tended to get into more trouble. We were/are young and that’s our reasoning, anyhoo when we told his family this back when I was preggers, they freaked.
Everyone was shocked we didn’t want boys aka not going to keep trying until we had one. So now we are done, with two awesome girls and his family still expects us to quest for this mythical boy baby. Personally, I didn’t think wanting girls was so outlandish. So here is my question did you/ do you have a gender preference and what is it?

I have a son from a previous relationship. This go round we’d like a boy at some point to carry on DH’s name, but with DS now 7 I think I need a break from the running, jumping, climbing boy and would like a girl. lol

We wanted a boy. There were two girls in the family when I got pregnant and my husband was the last male with his name. We got what we wanted and now there are 4 girls and my boy. My husband doesn’t want a girl at all. He doesn’t want to deal with the dating and hunting down the guy who hurts her and the whole period thing. He wants nothing but boys for us.

I’ve always wanted boys, but of course I would be happy with a healthy baby, girl or boy.

DH has a son from his first marriage, so we would like a girl this time around, but obviously we want a healthy baby and all that good stuff

My DH really wants a girl. I am TERRIFIED of having a baby girl, so I keep secretly hoping we’ll have a boy first (ok….just to be honest, I dealt with a lot of self-esteem issues & eating disorders in the past, so I am scared I’d have a girl who was just like me in that aspect…and I don’t wish that on anyone.) We’d be prefectly happy with either, though. We even have one boy and one girl name already picked out!

No preference, I love them all! 🙂 It would be nice, however, not to have all girls (because I grew up with all females) but my friend is a mother of three girls and she LOVES it… so I would be happy and feel blessed no matter.

We definitely want at least one of each, thus we have no preference on gender this go around as long as we get both! I will say, I’ll be much more desperate for a girl if we have all boys than vice versa, so I guess at some point, I do have a gender preference for a girl. But I want a boy too 🙂 I don’t think it is weird to want what you want, you don’t need to justify it!!

My sister once taught a boy who was one of six boys. Their mom was pregnant again, hoping for a girl, and she dressed the youngest in girl’s clothes. I’m one of four girls, and I have a little brother ten years younger than me who was a surprise.
So, keeping that background in mind, I can’t help but not give a sh*t if my future children are boys or girls. My focus is on happy, healthy, well-loved children, not a certain gender equation! That kind of binary thinking can lead to serious resentment, disappointment, and a lack of acknowledgement for who your children are…not as a male or female sex, but as individuals who aren’t “repeat experiences.”

I always say I don’t care as long as it’s healthy and cute. Lol. I would PREFER a variety (one of each) but have no preference really.
