So, prompted by the post last week about proper bra fittings (http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/has-anyone-ever-been-properly-fitted-for-a-bra), I decided to go to Nordstroms last night and get fitted. I’d been fitted a couple of years ago at VS as a 34Dirty Delete but just felt like my bras hadn’t been fitting as well or being quite as supportive for a while and I figured I’d changed sizes. Having heard good things about Nordstroms, I gave it a go.
Well I was right – I had changed sizes from a 34Dirty Delete to a 36F!! No wonder my bras didn’t seem to fit right anymore. The lady I was working with was super helpful (and was a G cup herself so she could tell me which bras she personally really liked as a larger chested lady) and I walked home with three 36F bras which are SOOOO much more comfortable than my old VS bras.
But I’m officially starting my post-baby breast reduction fund because after a couple of pregnancies (sometime down the road), the girls are going to be scary big (they’re getting scary big to me already!)!

I feel your pain! I started shopping at plus-sized stores to find bras that fit better since most place (the Victoria Secrets of the world) don’t carry larger sizes. Actually, when I was shopping at VS one time the girl told me to go shop at the porn shop because they didn’t carry my size. B***H!!! I’ve never gone back. Lane Bryant usually has some GREAT sales on great bras.

They shrink after babies if you breast feed. It’s something to look forward too. LOL

@Mrs.KMM: I need to go get fitted again. The last time I went I was told that I wore a 34C, that was over a year ago. Now, my breast are always spilling out. I know that people will be buying me lingere for my honeymoon, so I need to be certain that I get a size that fits.

I need to get fitted properly…I think I lost some weight around my ribcage so my old 34Bs fit again, but I still wonder. I need lingerie for the wedding night, too!

Oh man, I can’t even remember the last time I went and got properly fitted for a bra! The last time I went, which was probably when I was a freshman in college, I was a 38C. Now my boobs have the whole bra muffin top thing going on. :/

@Mrs.KMM: My mom went from a 34G while nursing to now a 34AA (albeit this was over 20 years and 40 pounds less).
FH would be very sad if I took up the reduction discussian again. Before we started dating I was contimplating scheduling the surgery for the following summer (a coworker and I were going to be reduction recovery buddies). Then I lost a little weight and found more supportive bras. I went on the pill and even after losing 15-20 lbs I gained a cup size (or several). I was a 32DDD three years ago, now I am a 32G/H, I have a problem with this.
The only positive is that well fitting bra that has cups formed to the way you carry the tissue will make you look smaller (the only people to believe my size are the bra sizers.)

@mwitter80: and @Knubbsy-Wubbsy: Yeah – I know that happens with some people but I don’t anticipate that being the case with me. I’m built EXACTLY like my mom – like, to a T. She was a C cup when she started having kids. With each pregnancy they grew but they never shrunk back down at all. I don’t remember what size she was by the end of her 3 pregnancies but they’d gotten so big that they were giving her back problems. She had to get a breast reduction.
Considering I’ll be starting already bigger than she was and I anticipate my body will react similarly to her’s (it always has with everything else), I’m frightened where mine might end up. Darling Husband knew long before we married that a breast reduction after kids was a definite possibility and he’s totally fine with it (so long as I leave him enough to play with). Considering I’d probably go down to a full C-cup, he should be totally fine!

I was inspired by that post, too. I went from being a 38F to a 38G. Fiance doesn’t want me to get a reduction, but unless they shrink after having kids (which seems super unlikely), it’s happening. I’ve dealt with carrying these things for so many years, he can deal with them not being quite as large :P.
