I get fitted usually once a year to check my size.  I’ve had a large chest since I was around 15 years old, so I’ve always been on top of making sure I wear the correct size.

I will say that I think Victoria’s Secret’s sizing is seriously whacked.  I am a 34Dirty Delete, confirmed by Bloomingdale’s and Maidenform, and I couldn’t fit in a VS Dirty Delete to save my life.

I get a lot of great bra deals at Nordstrom Rack.

@hotchildinthecity:  Agreed. I am a 34 Dirty Delete or 32DDD/32F. VS bras don’t fit. I went to Bloomingdale’s and had a proper bra fitting and I can honestly say my back has never felt better. It’s amazing.

Yes the exact same thing happened to me! I had been wearing 32B for ages, but the band was always too big. It turns our my size is actually 28D like whaaaaat I had no idea they went that low! Embarassing that I was so off, lol.

i’ve been fitted at nordstrom twice. one prior to my breast reduction surgery- at that fitting, i found out i was a 38H. and one after i was fully healed- at that fitting, i found out i was down to a 38D. i love how at nordstrom they use sizer bras, and not just a measuring tape. the tape method is always off for me. so having them actually come into a room with me and have all kinds of sizes of bras? much better.

.twist. lol I know, so crazy! And as far as I know there is only this one store near me that carries that size, and even they were like, um we don’t usually have this size, you got lucky! The store is called Change, and I live in Ontario, Canada so I’m not sure if that’s also a chain in the US?

@.twist.:  I guess if I needed a different VS size, which would be bigger from the looks of their bras, they wouldn’t carry it since they don’t go above a Dirty Delete.

I’ve always thought the sizing deal with Victoria’s Secret is to make you think your chest is bigger than it is.  I frazzled a girl at VS once when I was with my sister.  My sister (who is a 34C) got measured there as a 36D or something.  The associate then measured me and got all nervous and said she’d be right back.  So clearly I didn’t fit into a VS size!

ETA: Check Gap Body for size 30.  I feel like I’ve seen them there.

I would like to get properly fitted.  I wear a 34A (have since high school), but I don’t think my bras fit me correctly.  I’ll have to look into this…

I finally got a good bra fitting by Nordstrom as well. I was going to VS before, assuming they were the best since that’s all they sell, but boy, was I ever wrong. Nordstrom fitted me a whole cup size larger (and depending on the manufacturer, a band size smaller) and everything looks much better. Now I only go to Nordie’s or NR for bras; never again am I buying these at VS. At VS, they just measure you with a tape measure over your bra that you are wearing and this is flawed to begin with. At Nordstrom, the associate actually goes into the room with you and measures you “au naturel”. In my case, she even called in a manager to confirm and then brought in a ton of sizer bras to see what I would be in different brands (as each one varies slightly). We were able to narrow down to which brands looked better on me than others, which is helpful for future shopping trips.

@.twist.:  No, because it would be a bigger cup size than they have. They don’t carry anything past a Dirty Delete, but they will make damn sure they tell you that that is your size. Their 34Dirty Delete is not the same as other company’s 34Dirty Delete. I’m wearing the same size bras, but now they actually fit.

I’ve gotten properly fitted at Nordstrom before a couple times.  Gotta love being a 36F – don’t have much choice but to go to a speciality store but the bras fit and support SO much better so it is worth it!
