My husband and I live down south, his daughter who resides with her mother live in Illinois, and were quoted a price for braces that we just can’t believe because down here in our area it is close to half of that. I am just wondering if the location has really made that much of a difference! Any bees in Illinois have kids with braces? Can you give me a ball park figure of what you paid/are paying??? Any Othodontics recomendations??

Chelle-Lee: Location does make a difference. The price can range form $2500-$9000 depending on where you live and what work needs to be done.
There is a website that can give approximate numbers:
Your husband can always ask for a copy of the estimate if he has reason to disbelieve his ex.

He called them. Turns out she had picked someone outside our insurance network. (I had sent her a list a year ago upon request) The one she picked is no longer in our network. Gosh, she had scared me! So I went and made a new list for her from our insurace providers. I hope she utilizes it in a timely mannor this time! ha ha.

I am not in Illinois by a bordering state and braces for me are right around 5K. My insurance doesn’t cover any type of corrective dental work so it was fully out of pocket. This was the cheapest price that I could find.
