My husband is currently playing on his computer, wearing giant gaming headphones with a red felt hat over the top.  He kind of looks like a monkey.  He’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me ๐Ÿ™‚

@WYAtocha:  Well my boyfriend isn’t my groom or fiance but he is amazing! Ive been having a tough time lately with family stuff so yesterday he surprised me with a zoo trip. we walked around joking about animals I wanted to take home and where we’d fit them. We were some of the few without kids there so we talked about parenting and what our kids would look like or act like. I laughed like a crazy person. It was great that he knows just the right thing to do to make me feel better.

My Darling Husband is currently in an isolated training. I haven’t been able to see or talk to him for the past month. He is a helicopter pilot in the ARMY and there is always something around the corner. I wouldn’t trade it for the world, though, because I am so proud of him and everything he does for our family.

Sorry, I guess I just needed to remind myself of it.

@aliavenue:  As a Naval wife, whose husband is on deployment right now, I feel your pain. I really, really do. The lonely nights without someone to rest next to, the unexpected issues that crop up when he’s due home, or something that makes him stay away longer.

You’re definitely not alone. My husband isn’t coming home for a while, so just know there’s someone sitting in Oklahoma who feels just as lonely as you. All the best to you.

@Hyperventilate:  I’m sorry to hear it! You said, “the unexpected issues that crop up when he’s due home…” What’s happened?

@aliavenue:  With the military, jesus, it can be anything.

My husband is an Air crewman in the Navy. His last deployment (not this one) he was due home late January/early February. He was stationed somewhere on the West coast (I am not allowed to know where they are) and they were getting ready to head home. Their flight home was delayed by (I think 2 weeks) due to the refusal of the Air Force to work with the Navy. I was not given specifics, but the general gist was that a Naval protocol for the air strip was different than the Air Force’s protocol for the same issue and the Air Force was not allowing my husband’s crew to leave until they complied.

The branches working (or not working) together is a constant source of misery for my husband and his crew. Getting two different military branches to work together is like trying to mix oil and water.

Edit: My husband’s good friend is in the Army. He recently came home from Afghanistan and on his flight back home to his wife, the Army had sent him to the entirely wrong state (Washington DC instead of Washington State)

Talk about mix up of the century.

Edit x2: My husband’s flight home has also been delayed by a missing wrench. It was only a day, though.
