narolepsy :  Such a good find! I bought a formal gown for $2 at a thrift store. Tried it on and it fit perfectly, minus the straps being too long, which is a quick fix. Best bargain find ever.

Congratulations! I love thrift stores and bargains and my mother raised us thrifting and visiting garage sales and flea markets. We moved around a lot and have beautifully and affordably furnished many a home doing this.

One of my favorite wedding related finds was the material for my dress. My mother used to design and make wedding gowns so I always knew I wanted her to make my dress. During our design process, she happened to find several yards of satin fabric from a wedding store closing down. She paid $16 TOTAL for that (the daughter of the owner was selling everything and just wanted to get things gone as quickly as possible) and then pulled lace that she’d been saving in her fabric stash so my dress was about $50 for all of the materials (and a lot of fun to design and make, too).

Non wedding related- our dining set is a lovely solid wood set that we spent about $80 for all of the chairs and $50 for the table (from two different locations but they make a perfectly matched set). When I looked up the prices people are asking for similar sets, the average is between $500 and almost $1000 dollars (depending on whether it’s been refinished). I’m most pleased because we need solid, well made furniture because my husband is a giant and chairs literally have collapsed under the force of him just sitting down. 😲🤣

My best bargain was a Kate Spade handbag at TK Maxx, it was £385 down to £85.

That’s a pretty dress! I will always have a soft spot for Adrianna Papell as that was my wedding dress brand. ❤️

I’m an avowed bargain shopper. I don’t have a lot of luck with thrifting where I live, but I know how to shop department store sales like a champ. I regularly get Free People clothes for under $30. I once got a pair of $150 Free People jeans for $5!

My ultimate bargain though, was my car. I was planning to shop later this year, and knew I was interested in the Ford Ecosport. The model I liked retailed for $25,000, and I was hoping that with end of year sales, I’d get it for $20,000ish. I happened to pull up the local Ford website, and saw that they had a markdown to $14,999! Brand new (last years model)! I emailed to see if it was legitimate, and it turns out that the 3rd party website had glitched and double applied an already large discount. Since I’d submitted a formal inquiry before they noticed, they had to honor it. It’s nothing fancy, just a very small crossover SUV, but after driving a beaten up old car with no AC for years, I love her so much. The technology is so shiny and new.

I love shopping Poshmark to get good deals on clothing.  There’s a lot of stuff new with tags on there for cheap!

I’m actually wearing an Adrianna Papell dress at work right now! I bought it with tags still on at a thrift store for $10. There is not a day that I wear it and a couple of people don’t stop me in the streets. I second what you said about their structure. I am on the opposite scale from OP chest-wise and I prefer wearing this one braless. I’m a 32J, yes, J for Jumbo 😂. It’s SUPER hard for me to find things that fit (and stay classy) up top because of my tricky bra size. I live in underwires so I appreciate the FREEDOM I have with this dress.

I love antiques but I especially like maps. So anyway was browsing a flea market and came across a map, quite old, thought it was a John Speed map, but the inside was so dirty behind the glass I couldnt make it out. Had a 10.00 price tag on it. I bought it. Took it apart, cleaned it out and sure enough it was a John Speed map of the new world.

Anyways my 10.00 find ended up being worth nearly $2000.00
