We are considering registering for china. I didn’t think we would ever register for it, so I haven’t looked into it much yet.
When I think china, I think Lenox. I know that Lenox is good quality, but I don’t know anything about Mikasa, Noritake, Wedgwood, etc.
Is there a consensus about which brand(s) are “best”? Is there a reason to pick brand over the other?

the brand doesn’t make a huge difference. bone china is bone china. i think it’s more important to choose a pattern with longevity…that way you’ll be able to add pieces in 10 years if you need more placesettings or things break. i know lenox has a good selection of patterns they claim will never be discontinued. lenox also has a chip-free guarantee on some lines. i would ask at the stores about that.

We love our Waterford china.

I registered for Lenox “Venetian Lace.” Love it. I know Wedgwood and waterford can get pretty expensive. I think Mikasa is a little bit cheaper from what I remember. I just went in and picked out what I liked regardless of who made it.
