I’m 35 weeks and asked my doc today about the menstrual-like cramping.  He told me it’s braxton-hicks.  I’ve been having them for weeks and had no idea. LOL.

It does sound like Braxton-Hicks contractions.  I started getting them late in the 6th month.  They don’t usually hurt, just uncomfortable, but sometimes I’ll get one that really hurts!

I’m 32w5d and have been having a lot of Braxton Hicks contractions for the last 2 weeks. For me, I can recognize them because the tightening repeats at a regular interval I could set a metronome too… it lasts a few minutes and goes away. Usually, I get them at the top of my uterus, but I’ve had them in elsewhere too. Mine have not felt like menstral cramps, but I know other women find those sensations similar.

Sounds like BH. Mine tend to be below my belly button. And they don’t ALWAYS feel like cramps but sometimes they do.  But short.  Only less than a minute. I think any tightening is likely BH contractions. As I said on the other board, I’ve been getting them since 17 weeks (which is on the early side but my doctor wasn’t concerned.) Since it has been 7 weeks of them, I’m now pretty convinced I’m not going into preterm labor but in the beginning….!  They made me very nervous.

Yes I get them twice an hour usually.   Dr. says as long as they aren’t every 10 minutes its fine.
