Hello fitness bees! I have question. I started the BBL workout program on Sunday because I have a back injury and cannot do most lower body weight lifting exercises. However, I am getting back in shape by using the elliptical, which I really want to stick with. Do you think that is a good substitute for the Cardio Axe, or should I be doing both? I didn’t really like that workout when I did it, it wasn’t as fun for me and it didn’t seem to work me as hard.
Also, I’m looking for motivation so if you have stories or pictures of your results from BBL, please share!

This may be a question for your doctor as I’m not sure the extent of your back injury? Show him/her the exercises?
I totally wanna do BBL as a side note!

I’ve done BBL, and two things:
1) It totally kicked my ass and I saw results pretty quick in the booty region.
2) It totally kicks your ass and if you have back problems (like i do, 2 slipped discs kept me disabled and on my back for 3 whole months before my wedding!) then TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR FIRST. Also, a lot of 90 degree bending forward stuff is not really ok for most back issues, so do modified versions as shown in the videos. I like elliptical and bike instead of cardio axe and any jumping type stuff, it’s too much pressure on my back. Also found cardio axe kinda meh, I used to be a dancer so it felt kinda boring.
Good luck!!!!

My back problem is a grade 2 spondylolisthesis, which means that my L5 vertebrae is fractured on both sides and the vertebrae has slipped 26 percent off the saccrum. I started having sciatic nerve pain last year and stopped playing college basketball because of it. I cannot do high impact activities for an extended period of time or bend of backwards (as that is where the vertebrae is slipped) without having pain That said, I can do things at my own judgement. I don’t think doing BBL will affect me more than day to day activities, it hasn’t yet. They believe that my vertebrae is stable (has not moved in 3 years) so I just avoid jumping when possible. I made modifications in the Cardio Axe. My real question was if you think Cardio Axe burns the same amount of calories as running 4 miles on the elliptical?

Yowza–thank goodness it’s stable! Honestly, I’ve had as much burn (sometimes better) with the elliptical and maybe thowing in a little extra speed walking on errands vs cardio axe solo. With the elliptical I can kind of map out and plan better what I’m going to burn and make sure I hit it based on what I took in that day, and with the Cardio Axe it’s kind of an Ahhh, this should be about right….but wait, should I have skipped that flavored latte and just gotten an unsweetened green tea instead??? BAAAAAAH ::brain melt::
