I’m not plus-sized but I do have to say that spas (or wherever you’re going) don’t have size limits. Trust me, you’re fine, and your size won’t be an issue and won’t affect their ability or desire to provide you with services.

Take a pain killer about an hour before you go. Honestly, the movies make it seem more painful than it actually is. If you go to a good aesthetician they’ll know how to make it as quick as possible and minimize pain and discomfort while they’re at it.

Hope you have a blast in Jamaica! 🙂

I can’t even think about waxing my ladie parts! I’m soooo pain sensitive! But if you want to do it, then I don’t thin you should be concerned about your size, people of all sizes and shapes do it, so why can’t you? Don’t worry, just pick some place good, they will do the rest!

Good luck in Jamaica! I hope you feel sexy and convident as every women should! 😀

I work in a waxing salon and we have never turned away anyone due to size! We are professionals and it is our job to make the clients happy, that being said go get yourself a Brazilian girl! The first time your pain will be about a 5 on a scale of 1-10, and after that if you continue to get them it will go down to around a 2.

The first time is when you pull the most hair so of course it hurts a little more, but it is definitely worth it!! Make sure the hair is long enough to be waxed, you should be able to pick up the hair with the pads of your fingers, not your fingernails.

@Mitchell_lover:  Because you work in a waxing salon, can you provide me with a little more insight into waxing?

How long does it typically last (with no grow back) for those who have hair that grows back quickly? Maybe this isn’t something you would know.  Worth a shot…

It could last up to 4 weeks, the first time you get it done it won’t last as long because hair doesn’t grow at the same rate. But the more you continue to get it done the less hair will grow back! So I would say the first time it would last about 2-3 weeks.

Im getting one for my wedding. Im a plus size girl. Me and my future cousin in-law and our loud mouths acually got us a discount on one. we were talking about getting a brizillian and there were spa owners a few cars over. I guess they over heard us and approched us with coupons! and we got to ask them all the questions we had about it. Dont worry bout being plus size, you will be fine! 🙂

@QueenOfSerendip:  Glad that you had such a good experience… just wanted to add that I’m 120 lbs and I also have to pull up my tummy skin. It’s just so the skin is pulled taught, not to worry!

I’m a size 10, and also find it hurts so much less when the waxer has you pull your skin taut. I ALWAYS ask if they need me to pull anything!  I was pretty mortified the first time she asked, but I got over it really quickly.
