omglauren:  Are you still skipping the placebos and thats when the bleeding is occuring? Or is it just in the middle of a pill pack when you’ve had your “period” the previous month?

I’ve only been on BCPs for about a year, but I experienced a lot of breakthrough bleeding with what my doctor first prescribed me.  A lot of times it was like having an extra period each month.  I finally talked to her about it and she immediately switched me to a different, stronger pill.  I haven’t had any problems since, and my periods in general are waaaay lighter and shorter.  Different things work for different people I guess.

omglauren:  I wouldn’t worry about it! I used to try to skip periods occasionally when I was on a 28 day cycle BCP and I would always get breakthrough bleeding eventually. Once I took the placebo week and started over I would go back to normal.

I switched to seasonique a few years ago and I love it!

omglauren:  I would say that your body isnt used to skipping the placebos on this type yet! I think sometimes its easier on certain pills to do it than others. If I skip mine, I occasionalyl get breakthrough bleeding adn then I just stop the pills and get my period.
