I voted for 2.  I’m not anywhere near parenthood yet, so my opinion will probably change, but I think I’d like to Boyfriend or Best Friend at least till 1, but not all the way up to 2.  Ideally, by then I’d be pregnant with #2, and toddler + giant belly seems like it’d be awkward.  Also by then, kids are getting most of their nutrients from food, and nursing just becomes a suppliment/bonding thing, so I’d want to make sure they get in a habit of getting all their nutrients from food, and finding other ways of bonding with them that will last further along in development.  But no hate on the moms who choose to Boyfriend or Best Friend longer, this is just what I think my preferences will be.

I feel that people have a much stronger opinion on this before they have kids. It is hard to determine what you will do beforehand, though. My daughter is only 10weeks, I plan to bf as long as possible. I’m not sure how she will be when she gets teeth, but I’ll try to condition her not to bite if she tries to. It will be a little sad when she weans, but I will try to not let my feelings stop her if she is ready. I’d prefer her to have breastmilk to cow’s milk for as long as possible.

Personally, I plan of breast feeding my children for a minimum of 12 months and my aim will be for 24+ months. I believe that breast feeding until at least two years is what is best for my child.

@Silly_love:  I just learned in prenatal class over the weekend that it’s now advised to breastfeed up until 18 months – but remember this can be pumped breast that you give through a bottle, doesn’t have to be actual breast to mouth feeding.

I breasted until Dear Daughter was 2yrs 7months. Then got pregnant just a couple weeks later sand I still have a decent milk supply 5moBeth’s after stopping. We probably would have kept going but I went on a weekend trip for my sisters Bach party and when I came home she decided she was done. Ill bf this Kobe for as long as she wants as well.
