So I have been working on my stash for my breast milk for when I start back at work in a month. I am wondering, how much milk do you put in each storage bag? Do you mix your pumped milk (meaning 4 oz from morning session, 4 oz from next session, etc)? If you out more milk in each bag than what your baby eats at one sitting, how do you portion it. Any tips and tricks are welcome. I am currently putting about 4-6 oz in each bag and laying flat to freeze. I have about 250-300 oz frozen currently and am pumping about 10-15 oz per day. Tell me your secrets! I like to be as organized and efficient as possible! Share pictures if you have them!

MrsDusso : I only ever stored a max of 4oz, because that’s the most she’d drink at once. But, I do highly recommend freezing some bags with smaller portions as well (1 or 2 oz) so you have the option to top the baby off without thawing out a whole new 8oz.

I’d do 4 oz bags and some 1-2 oz “snack” bags.

I stored 4 ounces and 2 ounces.

I also put 3-4 oz in each bag, later on I think max of 5 oz when he was older. I laid them flat and put them in freezer bins. When I pumped at work I let them cool completely and then combined milk from the day.

I usually stored between 3-5 oz per bag.
It’s fine to combine milk from different pump sessions as long as you let it cool first.
