crysxo:  I’ve read this whole thread and haven’t compelled to comment util I read your post. WTF is wrong with people?!?! Someone actually equated breastfeeding to “second base”?

I’m shocked there are still people who have a problem with this…

Cory_loves_this_girl:  If you’re suffering because you have to pee, that’s nobody else’s problem but your own. If your baby is starving, then it is likewise nobody else’s problem but your own (and your baby’s). Why should anybody care either way?

I love the ‘come at me bro’ attitudes some women take with this. I can just see a mom setting her child down in the park to go beat someone’s ass for hassling them about bf.

Cory_loves_this_girl:  Next time you have to pee really bad in public, don’t panic! Just use your breastfeeding poncho (it can double as a pee poncho) and pop a squat wherever you are!

CorvusCorax:  You don’t care if a baby is starving? That’s sad.

You’ll probably care about your own ears when said starving baby starts screaming in hunger pain, but I’m sure no mother will let it get to that point and will choose to feed their baby regardless of what you think of them.

I love it when people with no true understanding of how breastfeeding works, seem to have all the “solutions” as to how to do it “properly.”

“Throw on a poncho/blanket/cover” – because every single baby tolerates those SO well.

“Feed the kid from a bottle” – yep, again, it’s really just that easy.

“go in a different room” – same to you.

Breastfeeding is so easy to begin with, way to further help the cause by shaming those who do it.

It really, really says a lot about how far gone our society is in terms of how we sexualize women’s bodies. I will never be able to grasp why so many individuals have such a hard time just getting over the fact that breastfeeding is not something inappropriate, and that it’s really not so hard to turn your head, and look in the other direction.

Hmm. I breastfed but never did so in public because I personally just didn’t feel comfortable doing that.

Posting pics of yourself breastfeeding, on the other hand, really weird IMO. For ex: a friend of mine made her profile pic a pic of her breastfeeding….like Wtf?? If u wanna do it in public go for it, but who posts that much less makes it their profile pic lol. Sorry if I offended anyone. I loved breastfeeding it was also a great way to bond with baby, but that’s something her and I shared that I didn’t need to share with the internet lol

CorvusCorax:  WOW!! There is so much wrong… I just… oh dear.

The problem with debates like this is that no one ever convinces anyone of anything. Everyone just reinforces their own beliefs. So there is really no point in going on about it. The bottom line is breastfeeding in public is not illegal. So those of you who don’t like it, too bad. People are going to do it and there is nothing you can do about it.

My baby eats when she is hungry. If a boob has to come out in public, so be it!

CorvusCorax:  Holy cow, how immature.  How is breastfeeding an unpleasant bodily function?  Get over your own psychological issues with the human body, and stop projecting them onto others.

CorvusCorax:  “Mothers should keep their boobs and their brats to themselves.”

You hear this mothers? I guess we’re no longer allowed to be a part of society! Good to know!
