ahh im getting this too lol, ive learned to just smile and say something like “ah I know,i’ll be grateful when im 30 eh!” People keep saying “what type of prom dress are you looking for” or “when is your prom”.. what SCHOOL do i go to??
Haha it’s sort of insulting and at the same time, when im 30 i’ll be flattered to hear that i’m sure. I have a baby face and im rather short too, im also really shy, prefer to dress casual and wear natural makeup .. the mix of all of that makes me appear very young. It doesn’t help my fiance is 10 years older than me and started losing his hair at 20 so has always looked older than he is because of that but we have a great relationship and all our friends and family say we are a great couple ready for marriage and we know we are ready too!

- Wedding: September 2014 - Historic Rosemont Manor
I get this all the time. Before I went wedding dress shopping, I expressed this exact concern to my mother and she said, “no, they’ll see the ring on your finger & just know you’re not looking for prom.” Ever since, it’s been a game to us. If we walk in & they say, “looking for prom?”, my mom buys me a Starbucks. If they say, “you looking for a wedding dress?”, I buy her one. If they don’t say anything, well, we go to Starbucks anyways. 😛

@Sparkly_Snowflake: You dont look young at all in your photo! My Fiance and I have this problem all the time. We both look very young, and people have actually presumed we are under 16 despite both being 21. (Poor Fiance is only 5ft 7 so that doesnt help him!)
When i went dress shopping SO many people made comments first off about how young we were, then about how we were too young to be getting married (we will be 22). So agonising!
Also in a separate note…
YAY ANOTHER UK BRIDE
Another December 2013 bride!
And (this is totally going to make me look like a stalker, but in fact i saw your bridesmaid cards) my name is also Rachael.

Argh this happens to me too. I’m 23 in June vand I still get asked for I.D at R16 movies! I tend to wear darker lipstick when I go to “serious adult things” so I look my age

I went to buy spray paint for a project and the guy rung it up and went “Oh sorry, you have to be 18 to buy this” and I said “Oh, no problem. I’ll get you my ID” and he looked confused. Gave him my ID and he FREAKED OUT. Legitimately could not believe I was 24.
Everyone tells me I’ll appreciate it when I’m older, but it sucks now! My mom goes to all my wedding appointments with me (FH is overseas) and most of the time the vendors speak to her and ignore me (especially when it comes to payment time) my mom always goes “don’t look at me, it’s her wedding”.
