Was totally not aware of any requirements on having an ivory ribbon.

The florist’s advice is pretty solid; it’s your wedding!

I think the blue would tie in nicely with the something old, something new etc.

if you like it and it will match the theme/decor, go for it.  it’s your wedding.

my ribbon was fuschia pink not white/ivory.

@walking-on-sunshine:  I think the blue and or ivory would be fine, it is your wedding.  I am going to ask my seamstress to edge finish a long strip of fabric from my dress (since it will be WAY to long) and use that for my ribbon, and use a smaller different color ribbon to attach my charms.  That way I can tie in my bouquet to the groom’s attire.

The blue ribbon is lovely.

I’m personally not a fan of the striped ribbon, but that’s me.  If you like it, go for it!  It’s your bouquet, not your mother’s.

Also, when I read “pods” I thought this was some Aussie slang term I’d never heard of before!

I would do the pearl pink to match your girls.

@walking-on-sunshine:  my bridesmaids were in navy and they had ribbons similar to the above. i LOVE those ribbons and used them in a reception as well. how “formal” is your dress? since I had a full length dress with beading i did navy with a white lace overlay to coordinate with the maids.
