I’m undecided about flower colour schemes for bouquets etc.
My dress is ivory, bridesmaid’s a deep raspberry pink. Now I’d like to go with wow colours for my bouquet, and give the bridesmaids pale pinks and whites for theirs. However, nearly all the pics I see online show the opposite, with the bride’s bouquet being all ‘discreet’ and ‘tasteful’. Lovely and all, but… meh. Florist did say that the usual thinking is to not have the flowers outshine the dress, but I think the pop of colour complements the dress. What think?

don’t know if it’s in your budget, but what about both?
a muted, traditional one for your walk down the aisle, and a bright punchy one for your entrance to the reception, and some photos with both? or just borrow a bridesmaid’s bouquet for some fun photos?
also, the season of the wedding may be taken in to consideration…when’s your date?

This time next year, May 7th. I prob will have two bouquets anyway, will prob put one on my mum’s grave. We’re DIYing all flowers, so that’s the one bit of the wedding where the budget isn’t a disaster! I’m just not sure…

I think I will – wedding planning seems to be one long exercise in compromise, so I think I’ll just stick to this one thing, most people (outside the Hive!) barely notice the flippin’ flowers anyhow!

I think either one would work, and since you seem to WANT bright flowers, then go for it! 🙂 They’ll look gorgeous–I love that color, btw!

I like your idea of bright flowers for you and paler ones for the bridesmaids since their (gorgeous) dresses are so bright already. Go for it!

haha well my dress is VERY detailed so I wanted a very low-key bouquet… but I think if you want a wow factor in your bouquet do it!!

I think bright for you and paler for bridesmaids will work well.
Your dress is beautiful, by the way!

I completely agree, ouo have a ivory gown. I would completely go for a colorful bouquet, it makes it pop; the bridesmaids should be lighter so it will make a nice contrast with their darker dresses; it’ll look great on photo; My color scheme was similar; I had red roses while my bridesmaids had white roses against their darker dresses it had a nice punch and pop!and one had mix of white and peach-my chief flower girl; it looked really good on photos

I think both are nice but I’m personally a fan of beautiful bright flowers 🙂 (I did sunflowers so ours were plenty bright). I really like your idea of bright flowers for you and paler ones for your bridesmaids. With the dress colors, I think it would be great, and would look nice in photos too.

I originally wanted a pale (mostly white) bouquet, but my fiance was very adamant about wanting me to have a lot of color in my bouquet! It was a random request, but I’ll humor him, since it seems to mean a lot to him.
I love the look of both – you should go with the one that makes you happiest 🙂
