Hmm… I feel like a cape over your chest might be too much. I do like the ones that wrap around your arms and leave your chest open so everyone can see your dress. However, it might be hard to find one that looks good with the beautiful details on your dress. If it’s what you truly want, I bet you can find something you like. If it’s only because you are worried about the weather, I don’t think a cape like what you are looking at will keep you warm. You would be better off looking at different types of shoulder wraps and honestly, I think a shoulder wrap would look nicer than a cape.

I love your ideas! my dress is similar to yours but it has less tulle around the bottom, it’s all lace to the ground if that makes sense. I’m wearing a cape similar to the one I posted the picture of instead of a veil. It is cathedral length. Then I’ll take it off after the Ceremony. It’s easier to wear than a veil I find personally. My wedding is in Ireland in April! I have no other helpful suggestions, I just wanted to say I love your ideas! And my cape cost a fortune. i could ship it to you in Canada after my wedding if you like!!!

I dunno…Honestly. .I don’t see how any of those would make a difference for weather? You would be just as cold in those as without it if the weather got crappy.

I wanted something like this as well over my strapless dress. After a lot of looking, I found it in a bridal shop.

Would strongly recommend that you NOT order online. I tried ordering something looked great in the picture. When it arrived, it did not fit and was cheaply made.

Search the boutiques and even places like David’s Bridal for what they have in stock.

The general idea is great.

sophielle:  I don’t know where in Canada you live, but here we would all be going outside in tees without a jacket or sweater so I don’t know how much of a factor the weather will be. And, as a pp has said, one thin layer of chiffon is not going to make an appreciable difference.

If you want a capelet or wrap for the look, by all means have one.

sophielle:  If you want one, remember that a local seamstress can make one without the risk of ordering from Etsy. Etsy used to be small sellers but now many of them are the same sellers you see on Aliexpress and DhGate.

I like the idea of a cape. Would definitely go which something very shear or that wraps around back so it doesn’t destract from the front of the dress!
