For me they were a fun activity to do with one of my bridesmaids… but in hindsight, most of what I got out of it was a ton of SPAM!  So my suggestion… if you go, don’t get sucked in by all the competitions etc 😉 haha.

if theres a vendor participating in the fair that you’re interested in… maybe you can visit them now to see their normal prices and during the fair you can check out how much discounts or the packages theyre offering

I just went to a really large one this week! It was free, but I hated it. It was on a week day and it really should have been on a Saturday. I had to take the next day off work because I was so exhausted. There were tons of people…I would guess 700 people were there. I took my planner thinking I would have the time to really ask all my questions, but you listen to them pitch for about a minute, they give you some pamphlets, then sign your card you need to fill to qualify for the free honeymoon. There are so many people there, you are basically fighting to get to the front of the booth to get your turn. It was really loud due to the DJs playing music. I only saw about 20 mins of the luxury fashion show because I was trying to fill my card up…and yes I arrived on time as I worked 2 mins from the site. I saw a couple vendors I liked, but you still have to set up separate appointments to really talk to these people.

I really couldn’t see paying for people to pitch to you. It’s like paying to get into an overcrowded career fair. Even some of the vendors were overwhelmed by the whole thing. Here is the site for the one I went to. They have a video posted as we’ll. It looks great, but it’s really too much for me to deal with.

@a_day_at_the_fair:  One of the first things I did after getting engaged was go to a bridal expo.  It. Was. Awful.  It was completely overwhelming and made me so stressed about planning a wedding.  In the end I found absolutely NOTHING useful and ended up with random people calling me for a few months.  Also, the venders I spoke to at the expo were all crazy expensive.  It wasn’t worth the $20 to go.
