My bf is planning on proposing within a year from now and he tells me it wouldnt be bad to start looking into rings or things for a wedding. With that being said, what do you guys think of going to bridal expos without being engaged? The last time I went to one was about 2-3 years ago when my sister was planning her wedding. At that expo, her husband and her one a honeymoon but were unfortunately unable to accept it since it was out of the time frame given by the company. i would like to think that it wouldnt hurt since we get to see different aspects to planning a wedding and we could even win engagement rings or something!

@StormtrooperInLove: I guess I don’t see the harm in going to a bridal expo early, but I’m not sure how much help I found the bridal expos to be. Also, I would be on the lookout for scams and even if you see interesting vendors/companies there, I would still google for reviews after the expo! I say, go on ahead if you’d like though!

I actually didn’t care for bridal expos. There’s always something hidden when you’ve “won” something.

I only found them helpful for seeing a wide variety of vendors in one place, other than that is just a lot of flyers and paper you don’t need. I also went once before we were engaged, it was aweful because we had nothing set and everyone hounds you for that info. I would maybe just stick to online research.
I also agree with the previous posts, there are some scammers out there like the honeymoons. I got a call once saying I won the honeymoonand so did everyone that came with me. It was ‘free’ but all the other fees and taxes made it more than a honeymoon I’d actually wanted to take.
