Anyone else do this? I went to one today. I do have to say, I didn’t have any vendors take me less seriously because I wasn’t able to share a firm date. I guess they look at me as “down the road” business. It was nice to see some of the options and get some business cards and brochures.
On another note, is anyone else totally curious how KM’s day has gone??

I went with my BFF who is getting married in October, and it was actually kind of annoying because no one would talk to me because I wasnt wearing a stupid “bride” sticker lol.
I dont know that I will go back when I am actually engaged because I was exhausted afterwards and I dont feel like she got any really great deals or anything.

Hey, I’m RIGHT HERE! We spent like, 7 hours on the road in the rain. It normally takes 5.5 hours to get down here, and I’m absolutely EXHAUSTED! I’ll write a post in the AM totally freaking out when I have the energy.
I went to a bridal expo on the 10th and it was SO fun! I found my baker, and my photographer (who was also recommended by the person I REALLY, really wanted), actually. And potentially my invitations person (they’re local and I LOVE her). Oh, and there was a gun show at the same time downstairs and that opened the door to alot of lame jokes.

We went to one in Austin. It was worth the trip. We found a florist and photographer and while it was sort of overwhelming, it was fun. Great people watching too!
One of my friends is waiting and she went. I think it’s smart. I had no idea going into the planning process what I wanted and that’s slowed down the decision-making in a lot of areas. Seeing things in person, meeting the vendors helps so much and she’ll be ready to go once she gets her ring!

I had signed up to attend one earlier in the month and was unable to go because of work, but I still have received alot of emails from vendors saying they enjoyed meeting me at the show! LOL It was because I pre-registered online! I would definitely agree with another post I read set up a separate email account just for wedding related items if you havent already done so.

I attended one just this month actually. It was very overwhelming and has actually made me enjoy waiting more. The person that I went with is engaged. While some vendors don’t care, I saw plenty of girls without the bride title being kind of ignored. Some vendors even hand-glanced, which I find terribly off-putting (what if a bride can’t afford a ring or something?). The whole thing was rather exhausting.

I think I would feel too awkward going and I definitly would NOT want to be ignored just b/c I dont have a ring..that would not sit well with me!

VioletVeil- Oops. Haha I work for a flower shop and we recently just did a bridal show. I’m not engaged yet and I found myself occasionally looking at the left hands of the brides just to see what they were wearing. Our business actually handed out a rose stem to anyone who stopped at our booth, bride or not. I hope I was sneaky enough to look at their hands without being noticed! It was strickly for my own curiosity and really hope it wasn’t offensive; maybe the vendors at your bridal show we also just curious?

I really want to wait until I get engaged to go to one of those. But I keep hearing advertisements on the radio and it’s killing me! I need the ring already!

@LindsayB- I hope most were just curious! I could give many the benefit of the doubt, but others’ demeanor made an obvious change after noticing a naked finger. It’s not very nice, but it is what it is.
