I guess it depends on the age of your guests.  LOL.  No one in my circle would have a clue who Bella Swan is.

@EncoreBridetoBe:  Not really.  It’s your special day and if it makes you feel beautiful, then that’s all that matters.  I don’t even know what the dress looks like so I, for one, wouldn’t recognize it.

I have seen the movie but would not remember the dress (just have a really bad memory when it comes to stuff like that!) and I would think you look beautiful!

I wouldn’t think that you were trying to copy her at all, it is just a beautiful dress. I say if it’s what you love then go for it.

I have never read any of the books, nor have I seen any of the movies, so I would not have a clue.  I agree that “Twilight” diehards (such as my stepdaughter and several of my own friends) would absolutely recognize it. However, I suspect that most people who have seen the movies and would recognize the dress are “Bella” fans and would be more likely to have a positive reaction — rather than a negative one — to seeing you wearing it.

I think this differs from, say, someone choosing a replica of the Duchess of Cambridge’s gown. I don’t think there is a thing wrong with that either — her dress also has the necessary sleeves, and it also is a beautiful gown; however, MORE people would have seen pics of her dress on the news, but, since they may not necessarily be “fans,” they may have less of a predisposition to like it, if that makes sense.

I personally don’t think Stewart wore it well for the movie. I think the only way it would be noticable if you have any true “OMG TWILIGHT” fans.. and even then they will probably love it.

All dresses are inspired by something, people, places, movies, time periods..

So if you love the dress and it screams to you, who cares where it came from.. its all about how you feel and how you want to look on your big day.

I think age might be a factor here, and how many people you know are into Twilight.

Sadly, if I wore that dress, everyone would say “OMG it’s the Twilight dress!!!”  I know way too many people who are into it. I also know a lot of people who have gotten married recently or are planning weddings, so being obsessed with all things wedding is just a thing.

    I’m 28. :-/

I haven’t read or seen any of the movies nor care to. So I wouldn’t even know if it was the dress or not.

I’m not into Twilight. I think it’s a beautiful dress, and if you think it’s the one for you, I say go for it!

Is it a shiny satin? Its hard to tell from the pictures. I gotta say I’m not crazy about the replica.. the fabric just doesnt make it look that great from the front

Ive never seen the movie and I would have no idea its the Twilight dress. I don’t think I would recognize any famous dresses except Princess Kate’s
