I purchased a couture gown from online.  I found that purchasing a sample online worked better because the gowns are professionally cleaned.  Check out preownedweddingdress.com.  Most of the online stores have a great return policy that will allow you to try the dress for 3 days and return if it doesn’t work.

I have always wanted to do this! Unfortunately, I am no good at snap decisions like that, so I knew that it wasn’t for me. But it sounds fun and I hear of people getting awesome deals!

I went to one, and I wouldn’t go again.  It was a mess in there – in the sense that it was so busy, hard to find a fitting room, hard to find someone to lace you up.  Also in the sense that the gowns were in bad shape. Imagine, those gowns have been on the racks being tried on for months or even years, and now there’s a bunch of frenzies girls dragging them around the whole place.  IMO it’s hard to find something in good condition.  And they were still way too expensive, it’s not like you’ll be getting them for $100.  Finally, I don’t like the idea of having to make up my mind on the spot, and they’re final sale.  I found it was a waste of my time.  I tried on like 15 dresses, but there was no way I could’ve picked something and taken it home under those conditions.  If you’re not too picky, then you might have some luck – one of my friends got her dress at a sale like that.

Definitely go and check it out if you’re interested.  if anything, it will help you decide on what styles you like, and what looks good on your body.

I just saw your wedding date – you have SO much time, please don’t go to this sale and let sale fever get the best of you.  It’s easy to feel like it’s “now or never” and you don’t want to miss out on a deal, but you still have so much time, that the chance of dress regreat is just too big.  Go for fun, don’t buy anything
