I have really fine, straight hair just below my chin. It doesn’t take a curl at all. I’ve been growing it out for a couple months now, hoping to have it long enough for an updo bun/chignon for my upcoming September wedding. This is the longest it’s been in a long time and it’s driving me crazy which makes me want to chop it off to my usual bob length. I’m divided how I want my bridal hair. I can’t seem to find any pictures with brides who have straight bobs (preferrably half up half down) with veils, and I’m talking the full veil, not a birdcage! I would LOVE pictures of brides (not models from the internet) who wore a bob cut/hair style with a full veil. Please help me decide whether to get my hair cut to my regular length bob style or if I should continue growing it out to have a updo bun.

I always think it’s great to do something different from every day for your wedding day. It’s ONE day, right? I’m in the same situation.. I alternate about every other year between having my hair shoulder length and having it longer than my back bra strap. Right now, it’s longer than the back bra strap and I’m getting so sick of it! My wedding isn’t until November, but my hair grows SO SLOW that I know it wouldn’t grow out long enough before the wedding. I’m doing half up half down with big flowing curls, so it NEEDS to be long! I know the week after the honeymoon, I will be cutting it to my shoulders! I did side swept bangs a few months ago (which I’m currently deciding between keeping or growing out for the wedding), but I’m trying to change it up without cutting any length! However, for your hair, I have seen some really cute short lengths with veils. I say do what you will be comfortable with, but try to change it up a little bit from your every day look. What about the bob but with only the sides pulled back in pretty bobby pins that match your veil/dress? If your veil will be coming off for the reception, you probably want a little something extra in your hair anyway so that it’s dressier. Also, if you really dislike your hair now, think about it- your going to live normal, everyday life disliking it for the next however many months for your hair to be a little bit longer for one day, or you can cut it and be comfortable and just adapt your bridal hair a little. Whatever you choose, I’m sure it will be lovely! Good luck!
