xstitchbride425:  I was really lucky as moth my make up and hair were a gift from my MUA and Hair Stylist.

But it would have been anywhere from $275- $400 . Not because it’s bridal. But because those are their fees. However, if you are going to the salon, that’s one thiNg. But if they are moving to where you are, they can’t really book people two hours before you and probably about 1-2 hours after you. And then the gas. So they need to make up for that in order to make a profit Especially on weekends, when they make most of their money.

TIP for brides on a smaller budget *

IF you have hair that you can manage and know how to blow dry it, you can try this to lower the cost.

Bees for the hair, ask for the quote.  If you are getting  an updo, Then call them and tell them you don’t have the time and you’ll get there with the hair washed and blow dried already. They’ll only have to retouch it before the updo. It SHOULD lower the cost quite a bit. For example, in my case, with super long hair, only washing and blow drying at a JC Penney salon once they charged me $75. Plus tips. It got close to $100.

I paid $165 for hair and makeup. I live in Florida though.

I paid roughly $250 for my hair and make-up. That was the normal price where I live – in Dallas. She came to me so that was an extra $100, but worth it to get ready with my Maid/Matron of Honor and Flower Girl.

I’m in Montreal, Canada.

My makeup trial was $125 CAD and the artist came to my house with all her supplies and high end luxury cosmetics (Dior, Bobbi Brown, Laura Mercier, NARS).

The actual wedding makeup will cost $150 CAD and the artist will directly to my hotel.

I’m a MUA. I don’t do weddings, only professional shoots. I charge A LOT more than this for a half day, which is what you are booking. If the MUA is good, these figures are a deal.

bbbria:  I’m a NW OH bee as well!  Who did you use?

Also, any venue advice/suggestions?  FI and I are having a hard time finding places we love, Toledo Country Club is our top pic at the moment.
