Had my bridal makeup trial and wanted your opinions! Overall I am pretty happy with the results, but feel like there is something that could be a little extra. Might want the eye color to be a little less copper and a little more mauve/beige. Thoughts??
Side note – apologies for the crappy lighting in advance. I had my trial done for my engagement photos, so I’ll drop some of those pics in there too!

You look great, but maybe a bolder lip color?

Personal preference I would do just a smidge pinker lipstick to define your lips more as they look almost your skin tone in the first two pics. But over all I like it!

Beautiful. I actually like the coppery eyeshadow shade on you. But I agree with previous posters, I’d like to see a pinker lip on you to define your lips more and make them stand out.

It’s perfect just add more lip color! Gorgeous!

I love the copper eyeshadow but I think a mauve would look fantastic with your skin tone. I would also go a smidge darker with your lip color.

junebee060118 : Beautiful! I agree with others — eyes are perfect as-is and a bit bolder lip would look great. The eyes are glam but imo not so “dramatic” that they require a subdued lip to balance. I bet a lot of different colors look really pretty on you: pink, berry, brick… Paging BalletParker : … any suggestions? 🙂

Daisy_Mae : hey girl, got the bee bat signal, thanks! 😂
junebee060118 : OP, you’re a beautiful girl. I agree with you that the eye make up shouldn’t be copper. You have a lighter, but not porcelain, skin tone. So I’d go mauve, ivory, chocolate type colors with silver or charcoal highlight/smudge, esp with that lip color which I really like on you. I also think your cheeks can be a bit more so they don’t disappear.
Re the eye makeup, it should be slightly smudges so you don’t have hard lines, and e inner liner, if you choose (if you’re doing a Mila type eye) should be pencil, not liner. You will need to carry it with you for touch ups)
here’s some eye tips for you with pics. I’d do a smoky eye on you with those nude pink lips, playing off your rich chocolate eye color and hair.
you can do this kind of look or the following pic, the difference is subtle and all depends on seeing your tones in person- one is a more neutral eye palette with chocolate / brown base the other has slight mauve charcoal look. The first is are for coloring, it doesn’t have the smoky smudged look you’re going for, but both are beautiful
This is closer to the application technique you’re going for, but notice that it is smudged- shadow has to be out on the wet liner on top lashline to smudge it down. And the bottom line is oencil inside and brought down on outer edges with a beautiful smoke highlight in inner corners and underneath inner eye, smudging out to charcoal chocolate mix on outer

Ugh, I’m on a mobile and cant fix the typos because the pictures are so big. Sorry!
Here’s a close up of the smudge technique, which is everything when you’re doing a smoky eye (not this coloring, the coloring inspo is beneath):

Last note, you might be better off with the top pic as eye technique inspo based on your eye shape. I can’t really see in these pictures how deeply set your eyes are. If very deep set with lots of lid show, go with the neutral tone inspo pic above for technique. You can still use the mila charcoal mauve colors if you like. Either color palette (neutrals or the chocolate charcoal smudge) will work.
Note that in that pic, the inner eye is NOT lined. That’s because you want to bring the eye out with that shape, so use a flesh toned inner eye liner.

It’s perfect , just needs a lil color on lips.

Hey fellow DC area bride 🙂 I think you’re beautiful but agree with PPs that a little bit more color on the lip will do wonders. Play around with it. As I am sure you know MAC has such an amazing selection of colors, and even one with a more pinkish tone to the nude will make a huge difference. I think their Viva Glam V would look so awesome on you.
