You should ask the bride if she’d be okay with it and or the other bridesmaids if they want to do the same. In my opinion, if you were the only bm at the reception in her own shoes I (as a guest) would think you were not a team player.

Yes! You can wear your own! I picked out ballet flats for my bridal party, but I told them that they could change into heels later if they wanted to… My SIL is 5’3″ and my brother is about 6’3″… so I figured she’d want something with a bit more lift for dancing 🙂 Totally not a problem!

I think it’s completely acceptable to change shoes (I would want to, too!), but I would run it by the bride just in case.

I would hope people would have better things to do than worry about your shoes.  I would wear her shoes for the ceremony and pictures, then change into what i wanted after.

Most Bridesmaid or Best Man change from heels to flats for the dancing, and I’ve never heard of a bride going crazy over it. As a guest, if I saw a BM change into something more comfortable for dancing, I wouldn’t think she wasn’t a team player – I would think she’s awesome for wanting to get down and boogie. I don’t see why going from flats or low heals to high heals would be a problem. You likely won’t be posing for pictures at this time in the night so no worries about looking off compared to everyone else.

I would check with the bride first, but I don’t think it’s a big deal if you change your shoes.  Now if your shoes are more fabulous than the bride’s….lol.

I don’t see it being a big deal once formal pictures are done. I mean half the time the bridal party ends up barefoot because their feet are killing them so what’s the difference?
