- Wedding: May 2013
Originally, Fiance and I had wanted to elope (rather spend the money on remodeling the house or travel), but his mom really wants a wedding. Fine, we’ll throw a wedding. I told Fiance that I didn’t want a big bridal party. Maybe just my two sisters. He then said “well, i think its only proper etiquette to ask my two sisters”. WHAT?! Ok. I’m not really close to my middle sister and the youngest one and I had a fall out a year ago. We have since then made up and I asked her to be my Maid/Matron of Honor. Her response “I don’t think i’m the right person for that job” ONLY because she doesn’t want to plan the bridal shower, bachelorette party, or give a toast. I was raised in Ohio but was born in SF. I have an elementary friend that i had stayed in contact with after moving to Ohio. I had planned on asking her, but she had mentioned in the past that her cousin recently got engaged and told her she can’t be her Maid/Matron of Honor because of her lil girl. She won’t have time. I have other girlfriends out here, but i’m not sure if they are Maid/Matron of Honor material. i have a bf in Ohio, but I feel that it would too hard for her to plan stuff while not present.
So, I’ve been seriously stressing on who I am going to ask to be my Maid/Matron of Honor and bridesmaids. :
