I’ve yet to attend a wedding in my circle/family that had any less than six bridesmaids or groomsmen.

SO and I aren’t currently engaged, and this is definitely subject to change, but based off of my current relationships, I’ll have seven bridesmaids (six gals and one guy). My SO would likely have five or six groomsmen.

I have 11 bridesmaids and one junior. FH will have 9-10 groomsmen. Most of my friends have had around 8-9 bridesmaids. I have 5 sisters and one brother and my FH has a lot of close friends. I still wanted to have friends included, so bam, here we are. I am honestly pretty self conscious about it, but I shouldn’t be. And you definitely shouldn’t be either! Plus 6 isn’t even what I would consider a large party. IMO, that’s on the end side of small.

I don’t think 6 is crazy large. I had 6 on my side and DH had six on his as well. We both had 2 siblings in the party and 4 friends. I wouldn’t worry about it. P.S. Sorry about the pic quality but we haven’t gotten full res images yet.

we each had 1 person, but we eloped locally… we both aren’t really into HUGE to-do’s when the attention is on us and wouldn’t have wanted to manage that many people, that being said most of the weddings I have gone to have had anywhere from 4-8 each… I think it’s up to the people getting married to decided what is best for them, who cares about traditions or fading fads, whatever the couple wants and how the want it should be the way it goes!

bekahbeee :  Dear Fiance has one Best Man and no groomsman, I won’t have a Maid/Matron of Honor or bridesmaids. I don’t want anyone to “work” on my wedding day and I couldn’t just pick 2, 3, 4 or ten people. If I had to pick I would pick my five sisters but not all of them are going to attend the wedding in person as they live across the world and could not travel with very young children, so we will be having a second wedding reception party later where all the sisters could be together. It really doesn’t matter what “trend” says, IMO. You do you.

I only had 2 but I’m one of 9 bridesmaids in a wedding in a few weeks.

I had six and I felt it was the perfect number.

We had 5 each and it was so much fun! I don’t think it ever looked or felt like too many.

sapphire27 :  We’ll also be doing 5 bridesmaids and 3 groomsmen! I think it will work out well since 2 of the groomsmen can walk down with a bridesmaid on each arm.
