My cousins both had 10 on each side, this doesn’t seem obscene to me.

Too many for me, but if you don’t mind dealing with a lot of opinions and logistics, go for it. It will definitely add to the wedding expenses as well.

Definitely not too much! I had 9 Bridesmaids, a flower girl and over 300 people at my wedding. My husband also had 9 groomsman.

Do whatever you want – everyone is bringing up good points about limiting it, and if that’s what you want, then do it. But if you want everyone to stand up next to you, then do that.

I chose to have 9 bridesmaids because I wanted it. For me, I couldn’t imagine having my pictures without my 5 girl friends and I also really wanted to include my two sisters and his two sisters. I cared more about that framed picture with everyone in coordinated dresses than I did about scheduling headaches. So far, I’ve been very careful about how I’m setting up dates far in advance so that everyone can make it, and went with choosing a color/style/shop to buy the Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses from, so that not everyone had to go shopping together or agree on one dress.

It’s not easy, but decide what matters to you. If it being easy to schedule is what matters, then definitely go with less girls. But if you find that you’re wanting it a different way, then do it that way!

Happy planning!

Have 18 if you want to have 18. But that means paying for all of those gifts, bigger rehearsal dinner and hair and makeup for the girls.
