For those of you getting Bridal Portraits how soon before the wedding did you do them?
Future Mother-In-Law asked if I wanted to get them (she was super upset that her first daughter-in-law didn’t want them) and she offered to pay so I said I would seeing as its important to her. I need my dress heavily altered but I didn’t want to get it done too soon before the wedding. But seeing as I actually need to wear the dress in the pics when do I do it all??

late april or may. your dress needs to be mostly done and your photog needs time to edit them before the wedding. ask your photog and i’m sure he/she can give you a better idea of when he/she usually schedules them!

I think this totally depends on how soon your photographer can get the shots back to you. Also what are you wanting to do with the prints? Do you want to have one enlarged? How long does it take for that to be ordered/shipped?

most “checklists” say 6-8 weeks before your wedding. But the main thing to do is talk to your photographer…if you want your portrait at the reception, and then in the paper Sunday after the wedding– it truly will just depend on how quickly they can get your pictures back to you (and framed and printed if you do choose to display it) I haven’t talked to my photographer yet about it, but that’s how I’m going to decide when.

I got married last december and did my bridal portraits about a month before. Since it was sortof a destination wedding, it was nice to try out my hair and makeup person and meet the photographer in person. It was a wonderful experience and lead to some great photographs at the reception I wouldn’t have otherwise had!
