I picked this set: (Sophie Conran for Portmeirion)

I chose it because it was classic white and wouldn’t go out of style, but still a little bit fun and unique. I also thought that I wouldn’t mind to set my fancier table with these if I was having company.

(For the record, they also come in blue and green and maybe another colour)

@garden_bride: The bowl is my favourite part! I also asked for some salad bowls… I hope they’re as funky!

We like patterns. Its really pretty in person, shiny but not too shiny. And looks formal enough for when we have guests. Solid just wasn’t us.

Ralph Lauren at Macy’s

Decided to go against everyone’s advise and NOT get something plain.. I think it is modern enough but definitely classic enough to use for a long time

Crate & Barrel Classic Century. I already have a few place settings and I love it! I’m complementing it with some items from Macy’s Edie Rose by Rachel Blison line- the salt & pepper shakers always make me smile.

I’m not going to get sick of our pattern, and we can always mix it up with other accessories.

For our every day dishes we got this set from Crate and Barrel.  I like that it’s classic and has clean lines but the color gives it a happy feeling.

We also asked for the soup/pasta bowls that came separately
