@calypso0712: We got those too! My parents actually already gave them to us for Christmas and I love them. Except the set we got only has the shallow bowls with the rims, so we put the deeper ones separately on the registry..I am excited for them! Fiance always complains that he can’t fit his cereal/milk in the shallow bowls without spilling it all over haha

No china for us. I’m obsessed with plain white dishes so I went wild at Crate & Barrel. These are so simple but I think they’re perfect.
I also have these damask dishes already if I want to spice things up a big (but probably not very often 🙂 )

Here’s my plain, everyday china: BB&B Everyday White:
And here’s my fine china – Parchment by Mikasa:

No fine china for us, just a everyday set of Corelle

We opted out of fine china, and had some trouble deciding on every day place settings. I love the colorful pieces, but I didn’t want to be limited with other serving pieces/table linens as far as color went. In the end, we opted for this graphite (I LOVE grey so much) stoneware from Noritake:
So we could also register for fun colorful serving pieces like these to mix and match however we want:
Also, these are our wine glasses which we were gifted at our couples shower and I just LOVE them, so I wanted to share!

Ours is Tid (which means “Time” in Norwegian) from Porsgrund Porselen. You can’t really see it all that well in the picture, but the white on white pattern is inspired by the tree-rings of an old oak tree. I love it!

@nyscpa2be: This thread inspired me to start poking around at dishes and China patterns online, and I LOVED the Mikasa parchment! Is it gorgeous in real life? I couldn’t believe that BB&B had the 42 piece set for $199. If you used one of those coupons, it’d be like $20/place setting? That’s less than any of the everyday stuff I’m eyeing!
I like the idea of mixing and matching the teal and off white sets here. Tabletops unlimited, Espana Antica:
Not sure why it won’t let me upload the photos! Boo!

@Nicoley1985: we did the same thing. it was way cheaper to order the box set that came with the shallow bowls than the individual place settings that came with the rimmed bowls. we wound up getting 2 box sets so we’ll have 12 place settings and 6 of the deeper cereal bowls. is it crazy that after my kitchen aid mixer i’m most excited about those bowls?! lol

@mrs ranunculus: Oh! That’s an awesome idea! I like Chirp, but I don’t know if I want the whole set.
I absolutely was “THIS” close to asking for that pattern instead.

I bought our everyday china at least 5 years ago, before I met DH. But when I moved in, I insisted we keep my stuff, I obsessed over it for so long before I bought it:
I have the square plates, I’ve got 2 multicolored as pictured, and 2 each of solids in some of the colors on the pictured plate…just so colorful and fun.
For our fine china we went a little tamer (and I know there are at least 2 other bees with this pattern!)

I love chirp and opal innocence. But I inherited a set of china from from my mom, so we decided to forget about the really formal stuff and registered for everyday china. It’s staccato from Crate and Barrel.
And here’s the set from my mom. It’s johann haviland forever spring.

Ours both happen to be Kate Spade. Just a coincidence, it’s what we liked!
Our everyday is called Harbor White
Our China is called Union Street. I love it because we can mix it with my mothers china.

For everyday we got Sango Concepts in Eggplant from BBB
And for fine dining my grandmother passed down her vintage china that she received for a wedding gift to me. It’s not ultra fancy but it has sentimental value and I think it’s lovely 🙂

Aggie10 That’s my grandma’s set!
