I loooved my bridal session. It’s just a good idea to do a trial run on everything, and why not get some great pictures while you’re doing it?

I definitely recommend bringing a friend along, if you can. I had a corset back dress, so there was no way I could get that thing laced up without help. I had my Maid/Matron of Honor come along and she really helped out, not just with my dress, but during the photo session, as well.

I was pretty careful with my dress during the session, and my photographer never put me in a situation where I’d get too dirty. Anytime we were outside, my Maid/Matron of Honor carried my train and I picked up the front of my dress so it wouldn’t drag. My photographer also carried a few clear trash bags with her, and anytime she wanted me to sit or lean on something outside, we used the trash bags to keep my dress from touching anything potentially dirty. It worked really well (and I never saw them in the photos), so you might want to bring a few along. I actually brought my dress back to the bridal salon to be re-steamed after my session and the owner told me I didn’t need it.

Good luck, and have fun with it!

…and here are some gratuitous pictures from my bridal session… ๐Ÿ˜‰

Get a friend. I was thinking I wanted to do mine solo and it would have been a big mistake. I actually ended up having both my mom and sister there to help and they were life savers. We got so many more fabulous shots than we otherwise would have because they were able to help so much.

We also used a version of a plastic bag (white sheet that I stood on).

If you’re wearing a veil be sure to get some with and with out it.

Bring lipgloss/hair spray just in case and one thing I didn’t do was bring my second pair of shoes. I had “reception” shoes that I didn’t think to bring but wish I had because my feet ended up killing me!

My #1 tip would be to make sure you have at least one person there with you– My mom was constantly helping the photographer- fluffing my dress, making sure my hair was in the right place, etc. It went a lot faster that way! And of course, have fun!!!
