any suggestions would be appreciated! i bought my dress at alfred angelo and they have an awesome longline bra i could buy ($69) but i would still need some shaping bottoms. i was thinking i could get a 1 piece thing that would work but i am open to any suggestions! my complications are that it must be strapless and low back.
where did you ladies buy your unmentionables?

I really like the Spanx brand. Everything I’ve ever bought from them has been durable and super comfortable.

I second Spanx – they are kind of hellacious to get on, but once they are on, they are comfy to me.

the one thing about spanx that scares me is that they are hard to get on and i feel like open bar + small bladder + wedding dress + spanx = recipe for disaster!

I’m wondering same thing! And i hear mixed reviews about spanx, some love it and others say it rolls down :-/
Hmm though i did try the David’s bridal bustier thing they had and that worked for me 😮

Spanx comes in different levels of control. I wore a “light” control bottom on my wedding day, mainly to deal with the dreaded thigh chub rub. They were comfy, did the job, and were easy to manuevre in when necessary.

I have a pair of heavy-duty Spanx that are hell to get on (I feel like a sausage being stuffed into a casing) but that give me great lines. They have an open crotch thing that you can pull aside to pee, but that grosses me out, so I slither out of it every time I have to use the restroom. I rarely wear them for this reason. The lighter ones, especially the little shorts, are wonderful at eliminating the awful thigh chafe and are easy to get in and out of for bathroom breaks.

@atreyu547: i am so scared something will roll down. i dont want to spend my wedding fighting with spanx!
the bra they had at alfred angelo actually was awesome, though pricy. i have been looking all day (im sure the IT guys at my job will love all the spanx searches i’ve done) and i think that and a girdly underwear contraption will be the best route for me.
@ArtDecoDC: i am torn on how heavy duty i want them to be. i feel like i need more suction for my lower tummy, hip area but the thought of an undrgarment with a pee hole also gross me out. plus i feel like it kinda kills the classiness of being a bride!
